Ignis landed painfully, still burning, in the middle warehouse plaza. The flying Onyx part-dragon dove down after him, eager to slay Torch nobility. The earthbound zombie of Urtholon of the Onyx thrashed to its feet as Robin coated a bolt with Venom Drinker poisons. She fired, but in the dragon's writhing, the bolt merely scraped it. The toxic payload found little purchase in the zombie's bloodless veins.

Urtholon, in response, charged at the warehouse upon which Robin was perched. Robin wrought an illusion of the zombified Byrix to soar in front of his charge. The larger zombie leapt gracelessly over the illusory obstacle, slamming into the warehouse with a shuddering impact, but failed to knock it or her down.

Ekkels and Klaitos spied their teammates in danger far away, leaving Angitt to handle the western ballista-mount and unconscious lizardman by herself. As they rode the freight elevator to the ground, they saw her fire the last bolt in the quiver directly into the underside of the great dragon's maw, piercing its decayed brain and pinning its mouth shut.

Ignis struggled to battle his airborne opponent while on fire. The part-dragon dove at him with flight speeds unhindered by his ornate armor; Ignis tried to evade his sword and seize ahold of his leg, but only barely managed the former. His burns spreading, he turned away from the fight and dove to the ground. He smothered the flames on his clothes and flesh by rolling on the dusty plaza.

Robin realized she couldn't maintain her position on the warehouse for long; if Urtholon were to a serious blow on the structure, it would collapse beneath her. Unwilling to try and run from the dragon, she instead ran to the roof's edge and leapt for Urtholon's not-yet-burning back. The zombie, still reeling from Angitt's strike, swung its head into her leap, and she found herself scrabbling for a grip on its tattered face.

Unable to open its mouth to bite, it instead flung Robin into the sky, her flight arcing halfway up the height of the city wall. Klaitos and Ekkels hurried towards the plaza, hoping to help save her from vengeful gravity with some sort of timely weather magic.

Ignis, still smoking and covered in dust, scrambled to get to his feet. The swordsman, however, swooped back around and cut him down with a flying slash just as he rose. Ignis fell to the ground, unconscious and bleeding. The part-dragon landed and kneeled down to take the Invernus Heraldic blade as his prize.

Robin, in the air, found herself buffeted by the same winds that had blown the Hitchit and the Ignis towards the wall earlier. She fashioned a crude parachute from a loose robe, and guided her fall towards the hole that Klaitos and Urtholon had broken open. She managed to sail close enough to grasp the lower edge, the stone crumbling under her grip.

Klaitos and Ekkels arrived at the plaza to find Ignis fallen and Robin clinging to the wall above. Klaitos noticed Urtholon's attention on the latter, so he decided to violently grab its attention. He raced past it to seize one of the metal carts that had earlier helped carry the hot air balloons across the city. He charged at it cart-first, ramming the zombie in the legs. The dragon stumbled and turned to stomp at him, but he easily evaded the clumsy blow.

Ekkels noticed the Onyx former dragon-rider had stood from where Ignis lay and turned his attention to Klaitos. He tried to distract him with a thrown brick, but his projectile was struck out of the air by the dragon's tail. His whistles and jeers, likewise, were drowned out by the howling wind and stomping dragon. The swordsman, unhindered, took to the air again and launched himself towards Klaitos.

Robin climbed up to relatively stable footing and took a crossbow-shot at the part-dragon. However, the smaller projectile proved no more able to foil his reflexes than the ballista's force, and he twisted in midair to dodge the bolt. He struck at Klaitos at full-speed; the giant used his bulk to halt the flying charge, and his toughness to endure the blade-strike, but suffered a bleeding gash across his arm for his outmatched defense.

Ekkels tried to rescue Klaitos by swapping locations with him. The spell worked, but Ekkels was immediately stomped upon by the zombified Urtholon. He squeezed free of the strike with his rubbery form, but realized that he was no more equipped than his friend to survive being surrounded by the dragon and the swordsman. Klaitos, from where Ekkels had been hiding, raced across the battlefield to grab him. He evaded the dragon's limbs and ran for the nearby buildings.

Robin, frustrated with her inability to harm any of the enemy combatants physically, considered her options for mind games. She noticed that the swordsman's armor was of a fairly outdated fashion, and thought he might find a similarly outdated threat to be a credible distraction. She wove a huge illusion of Haxryn of the Emerald overhead, and roared a challenge to the part-dragon that dared reanimate those of her bloodline. He seemed shocked to encounter the long-deceased Haxryn, but was fooled by the illusion, and flew up to slay her himself.

Klaitos, carrying Ekkels, raced through a building to put some distance between himself and the pursuing zombie dragon. He exited the other side and found a wooden cart with which to ram it once more. He and the zombie charged each other, as Ekkels channeled a little chaos magic into the cart itself. It smashed apart on the creature's rotten, scaly hide, but the broken pieces turned around and tore into the zombie again like the fangs of a great invisible monster.

The zombie finally collapsed, its body too damaged to move further. As Robin's illusion mock-battled the part-dragon above, Klaitos and Ekkels rushed to the fallen Ignis's side.
